My Review
“She gave me an understanding nod. But she could never understand that losers, even if they do not have a brain, have a heart.”

The book revolves around the life of three friends Raghav, Gopal and Aarti. Raghav comes from a cash-rich and affluent family and has the grand ideas to fight against corruption and change the world. Gopal, on the other hand, hails from a poverty-stricken family and has faced the harsh realities of life and has an ambition of becoming rich but both of them are linked by their love for Aarti who alongside their studies in engineering coaching classes.
In the AIEEE exams, Gopal gets a very low-rank college but Raghav is among the toppers. Gopal is persuaded by his father, who believes that his son will only live a quality life when he goes to a good engineering college goes to Kota for engineering coaching again and takes a drop year. Raghav becomes a celebrity in town after his AIEEE achievement but everyone gets stunned when he decides to become a journalist and pursue a career in a newspaper publishing house for his dream to change the world.
In absence of Gopal, Aarti falls for Raghav and Gopal is left heartbroken, he again gets a very low rank in the AIEEE exams and his father dies shortly after. Angry Gopal who now wants to become a rich man and wants to get Aarti back at any cost comes back to Varanasi and then the story carries on with Gopal ambitions and how he tries everything to get that.
Will Gopal be able to accomplish his desire to become rich? Raghav will be able to change the world and remove corruption and Who will get the girl? The miserable who want to be successful and ready to do anything or the successful but upright nerd? All these mysteries will be resolved in the book.
The story sometimes seems to be stuck at a single point and is far more stretched than desirable and you will be forced to think that why don't characters move on like Gopal clinging to Aarti like there is no other girl in the world? The story is also quite simple and common with the rich getting the girl and the poor working hard to become rich and win her back.
The good thing about the book is that it is written in very fluid and unchallenging English and even a 13-14-year-old can easily read it.
The target audience for this book I think is teens who will enjoy and appreciate this but if you are someone who reads heavy literature you may be too old for this book.
If you are a Chetan Bhagat fan, you should definitely read this book as this will provide you with a thrill as well as some suspense. 😊
